Slim Pickens, Double Bass player from rockabilly
outfit "The Purple Drippers" has come out of the bedroom
with his guitar playing and recorded an album of foot stomping,
slide guitar, finger picken good ol' country blues.
With the exception of drums (Kayner Butler), Slim
plays all the instruments (guitars, double bass and mandolin)
and sings. The eight tracks include an old gospel tune from the
Bahamas, a Hank Williams song (dedicated to Slim's dad who died
last year), a Slim Pickens original and a Ry Cooder instrumental
from the "Crossroads" movie.
