Some people think Byron Bay was named after the romantic English poet Lord Byron, but tis not so ( psst...go to the history page to find out who it was). Nevertheless Byron provides many splendid places for oration and recital - sweeping beaches, cozy cafe corners, or even lookouts of lighthouse fame. Poets abound in the Byron Shire and there are special poetry nights at the Rails Pub, Persephones Bookshop, and E-station. So loosen the imagination, tune the ear, and peruse the pages for 'wordy delights'.
