Cocomangas, What A Place.

Not one to normally go out on a Monday night in the bay I decided that I needed to break from my routine and give it a go.

Starting off at the Great Northern for a couple of games of free pool seemed the best. This way you can gauge how many people are out and about. The comedy night in the Backroom was under way, so with the sound of laughter filling my ears took my first shot. After a few games it was decided that an adventure across the road was needed.

Cocomangas, what a place. The club has been operating for number of years and has developed a reputation making delicious cocktails and serving drinks in Jam jars. (I guess it saves money on glasses)

Walking through the front doors we are issued in by "We are family" and it is immediately clear that we have encountered the 80's night. Cocomangas really is a place to let your hair down, especially if you down a couple of those jam jar concoctions. The sound of English accents is about all that you can hear over the music, now playing a Jackson 5 number. This place is a hoot.

Everyone is there for a good time. The DJ makes a point of playing all the old favourites to keep the dance floor rocking, even to the point of repeating tracks that get the people moving.

If you want to meet some one new or have chat with one of the many out of towners this is the place to go. A relaxed atmosphere accentuated by cosy lounges and coffee tables the only thing that I say to be weary of is the stairs to the toilets… these could prove most hazardous after a few bevies.

So the beginning of my week started with much laughter and dancing, whoever said there was nothing to do on a Monday night doesn't know what they were missing.
