| Rumour
has it that film-making on North Coast NSW is set to explode over
the next couple of years, and some have predicted it to be even
sooner. The North Coast is home to many innovative and successful
film makers. Notable ones are Wayne Young, credited with Fern
Gully; John Weily of Imax Fame; Tim Adelide, a professional stop-motion
animator; David Bradbury of infamous Green documentaries, McCoy
and Hoole for international surf films, Paul Tait, an experienced
cinematographer, to Cathy Henkel of Hatchling productions. There
have also been local film festivals like Buzz, Basc and Open Slather
occuring annually to encourage independent filmaking in the area.
With beautiful locations, much activity and anticipation, Byron
may become a glittering alternative to Hollywood. |
